Sketch Challenge

Welcome back to another wonderful challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.  This time the lovely and very talented Chris is our hostess and she has chosen a sketch challenge.

There are one or two additional rules for our sketch challenge:
  • you can rotate the sketch and you can re size the elements if you wish.
  • do not move the elements around too much, the original sketch layout should still be recognisable.
  • you can use any materials you like to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc.  Just as long as the original sketch design is obvious in whatever you make.
Here are a few ideas from our fabulous Design Team:

We should like to give you the opportunity to join in the fun at Crafty Boots Challenges and, therefore, we are offering guest design team spots to the winner and two runners up of this challenge.

This challenge will remain open until 12 Noon on Sunday, 7 June. There are very few rules but, if you would like to read them for yourself, you will find them here.

We are looking forward to seeing your projects, good luck.

Ribbon or Lace Mid Challenge Reminder

Welcome back to the Crafty Boots Challenges mid challenge reminder. The theme of the current Challenge is 'Ribbon or Lace'. The response to this Challenge has been amazing and we are really enjoying seeing your creations.

Three lucky winners of this Challenge will be given the opportunity to be featured in a future challenge as a Guest Designers. Lucyna and Rebecca were winners of our recent 'Spring' Challenge.

Lucyna

Moje zdjęcie  I am very happy and proud to be here.  My name is Lucyna Marynowska, aka Lula.
I come from the north of Poland.  Fifty- something, stay at home wife, mum of two grown up boys and a happy grandma.  I started my crafting journey 3 years ago and immediately became an addicted paper-lover.  Started with making cards, I am now particularly drawn to mixed media projects and altering things.  And I love making crafty friends all over the world!

This is my take on the theme 'Ribbon or Lace' - a card with a touch of mixed media:

Rebecca

My name is Rebecca but I'm better known as Beckie. I live in Church Village in beautiful Wales, with my husband and two sons, who are 17 and 11.  I have been paper crafting for 14 years.  I started when my eldest son started Welsh primary school to enable us to send Welsh greeting cards to teachers and friends.  Also, my mother is called Mam and Mam-gu and buying cards for her on the high street proved almost impossible.  After getting inspiration from a paper crafting show a few years ago I started die-cutting for most of my projects.

It is a honour to be a Guest Designer at Crafty Boots Challenges and here is my card:

Our fabulous Design Team have also been very busy and here are some more inspirational ideas from them:

Ribbon or Lace Challenge

Welcome back and we hope you are well.  Can you believe that it is time for a new Challenge here at Crafty Boots Challenges, where does the time go?

For the next two weeks the theme of our Challenge is 'Ribbon or Lace'.

According to a certain on-line encyclopedia - a ribbon is a thin band of material, typically cloth but also plastic or sometimes metal, other popular fabrics used to make ribbons are satin. silk, velvet, cotton, organza, grosgrain, nylon and polyproylene. Whereas, lace is a delicate fabric made of yarn or thread in an open weblike pattern, made by machine or by hand. Originally linen, silk, gold, or silver threads, now lace is often made with cotton thread or synthetic fibres.

We are sure that you are going to come up with some stunning projects using your best ribbon or lace.  Here are a few ideas dreamed up by our lovely Design Team.

Things with Wings Mid Challenge Reminder

Hi and welcome back, it is time for our 'Things with Wings' Mid Challenge Reminder.  The response to this Challenge has been amazing and we are really enjoying seeing your creations.

It is a Bank Holiday in the UK today.  So far the weekend has been bright but cold, perhaps the perfect day to stay home and do some crafting.  Three lucky winner of this Challenge will be given the opportunity to be featured in a future challenge as a Guest Designers.  Tracey and Lin were winners of our recent 'Anything but a Card' Challenge.  Both are amazing crafters and we are sure you would enjoy a visit to their blogs.

Tracey

Hi, my name is Tracey. I live in Manitoba Canada on a small acreage with my husband of nearly 20 years along with our daughter (12) and son (9). I have been paper crafting for about 15 years as time allows when not busy tidying the house, doing laundry or driving around children! I dabble a bit in mixed media and scrapbooking, but my real passion is card making...especially in the vintage style! As of late, I've been bitten by the Pocket Letter bug...it's a fantastic way to use up scraps and to get to know people from all over the world!

It's such an honor to be able to guest design with Crafty Boots today! Hope you'll enjoy what I've created for your viewing pleasure!

Lin

My name is Lin and I have been crafting in one form or another since childhood. I taught myself to knit, crochet and sew as my Mum, bless her, was useless with needles, hooks and machines. In fact one day she repaired a pillow of mine that was leaking feathers and my Dad's description was 'I could have nailed it together neater'. Where I got my crafty bent from I have no idea. When my Daughter was an infant I made all her clothes, curtains, bedding and even her lampshade! Sadly these days I have a few health issues that prevent me from enjoying those particular crafts, so I have turned to card making and home decor/mixed media. I run a couple of challenge blogs myself and so I get to travel around blogland looking at everyone else's amazing talent. I am thrilled to be a guest designer for Crafty Boots.

Our wonderful Design Team have been busy making a few more inspirational projects for you:
