Remembrance Mid Challenge Reminder

We are back today with the 'Remembrance/Giving Thanks' Mid Challenge reminder. There have been some amazing entries so far for this challenge and we have been having a great time looking at all of your fantastic work, please keep them coming.

I am sure that many of you will remember 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' - the fabulous display of remembrance poppies at the Tower of London last year. The display has since been broken up and it has been touring parts of the country.

One of our lovely Design Team ladies caught up with the 'Wave' section of the installation at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Many thanks to Lisette for allowing us to use her photographs.

 

(The 'Weeping Window' section of the display can currently be seen at Liverpool's St George's Hall.)

The winners of this Challenge will be given the opportunity to be featured in a future challenge as a Guest Designers. Susan and Julie were winners of our recent 'Monochrome' Challenge. As you can see, they are both very talented card makers, check out their blogs, you will be in for a treat.

I'm a mom of 2 grown children, and live with my 2 dogs, 2 birds and fish :) I've always been interested in crafty ventures and have dabbled (or wallowed, lol) in almost everything, except knitting and crocheting, which I just cannot comprehend. I've been making cards, and papercraft projects for 6 or 7 years now, and my New Year's resolution to never buy another greeting card again is the only one I've ever kept!! Remembrance

Autumn and Halloween

It's time for a new challenge here at Crafty Boots Challenges.

When I was a child we considered wearing fancy dress and knocking on the door of our neighbour and shouting 'trick or treat' to be something only done in the United States and most certainly not something British children would ever do.  We might have been lucky enough to be invited to an afternoon party where we would bob for apples or race to eat apples suspended on twine whilst our hands were tied behind our backs, but that is as far as it went.  It seems that now there is a buzz in the air as All Hallows' Eve approaches and there is a lot of talk about carving pumpkins and picking costumes.  I have even read that Halloween is now the third largest annual retail event in the UK, following that of Easter and Christmas.

However, not everyone celebrates Halloween, so we are offering a choice of topic for this challenge and for the next two weeks we should like to see either your projects depicting autumn, with all of it's glorious colours, or Halloween.

As always with our challenges, you can use any materials you like to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc. It is entirely up to you how you choose to interpret the theme.

Pink Mid Challenge Reminder

It is time for our mid challenge reminder here at Crafty Boots Challenges. As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in recognition of this, our the current challenge is to use pink in your project. Your project does not have to be about Breast Cancer Awareness, although it is great to get the message out there, you just have to use pink somewhere in your project.

The winners of this Challenge will be given the opportunity to be featured in a future challenge as a Guest Designers. Andrea was a winner of our recent 'Fair and Square' Challenge.  As you can see, Andrea is a very talented card makers, don't forget to check out her blog.

Andrea here, you may know me from SheepSki Designs my blogs name.   Living in Yorkshire in the UK, I work full time as an accountant and personal assistant and have hobbies such as competitive badminton and dancing (Argentine tango & Ceroc).   I work for four different design teams at present. I have no actual style as such but I do like quirky and unusual images and I may be known for soft pastel colours.  I started my blog just over a year ago when I really got into making cards.  In the past I’ve used mainly ProMarkers but have a stock of mediums to hand now - polychromos & Lyra pencils and Copics.  I occasionally paint with watercolours but have recently discovered the world of mixed media – so I started an art journal and produce occasional mixed media canvases.

Our Design Team ladies have also been busy making projects to inspire you.

Pink Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge here at Crafty Boots, the theme for the next two weeks is 'Pink'.

 Why 'pink'? Each year, as part of an international campaign, the UK celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October.  According to Breast Cancer Awareness, in the UK alone, 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year – that’s one person every 10 minutes. To show support for this campaign, and to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer, the Crafty Boots Design Team have chosen 'pink' for this challenge and for the next two weeks we should like to see pink in your projects.

As always with our challenges, you can use any materials you like, to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc. It is entirely up to you how you choose to interpret the theme.

Gold or Silver Mid Challenge Reminder

It is time for our mid challenge reminder here at Crafty Boots Challenges, the current theme is 'Silver and/or Gold'. We have received some stunning entries so far, our followers are such a talented bunch, but we know that there is more to come to dazzle and amaze us all.

Hello everyone,  I am Kavitha from India.  I have loved playing with colors and crafting as far back as I can remember.  After my studies, I started taking it up seriously and did a couple of diploma courses in fine arts n fashion designing.  I love trying various techniques and crafts, but my favorite is paper crafts and mixed media.  Currently I run an online crafts store for paper crafting and I also make exclusive hand made products on order.
