'Winter Wonderland' Mid Challenger Reminder

It is Christmas and we have reach the mid way point of our 'Winter Wonderland' Challenge.  We hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend.  This will be our last post for 2016, it has been a great year and we should like to wish all of our followers a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Lisa and Kathie recently won our 'Pink' Challenge.  Both Lisa and Kathie are regular Guest Designers, they are exceptionally talented and we consider ourselves so lucky.  Thank you Lisa and Kathie.

I have been crafting since 1991.   I started out learning 3d decoupage and made mainly pictures.  There was no diecutting in those days so I used to cut out each layer with a craft knife.   One picture took me 22 hours! I then changed over to card making.  I played around a bit with Rubber stamping and colouring but found that the lack of tools available back then hindered a good result or I just wasn't any good at it!  A few years ago I was introduced to Promarkers and the wonderful world of Digi Stamps and that spurred me on to have another go at colouring then came entering challenges and blogging!  I love colouring both digi and rubber stamps and experimenting with colours and have recently started to play with inks and backgrounds!

Kathie

Hi, I'm Kathie from New Zealand and I’m happily married to an amazing man who supports my crafting and loves my cards.  We have two teenage sons at boarding school and one black and white cat that is spoilt rotten and if I’m crafting and don’t pay attention to him, he’ll jump up and sit on my work.  One of my sons has an amazing eye for colour and detail and if I ever need a second opinion about an embellishment or colour he’s the first one I call on.

I’ve been crafting from ever since I can remember, weather it was knitting, colouring, or sewing dresses for my dolls as a child and later in life for myself.  But now days it’s either Card Making, Scrapbooking or Cross Stitch.  I’ve been on one design team for nearly 7 years and have loved meeting people from all walks of life and countries. I have a blog called Kathiez Kardz.

'Winter Wonderland' Challenge

2016 seems to have flown by and it is already time for our final challenge of the year.  This will be our 26th challenge of the year, we hope you have enjoyed them as much as the Design Team have.

The theme for this final challenge is the rather magical 'Winter Wonderland'.  We are hoping to see lots of projects with snow, blustery scenes and all things associated with winter.  Naturally, it is entirely up to you how you choose to interpret the theme.

A quick reminder that you can use any materials you like to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, or an ATC, an inchie.

Our fabulous Design Team have been busy doing just that and here are a few ideas to hopefully inspire you:

This challenge will remain open until 12 Noon on Sunday, 1 January. There are very few rules but, if you would like to read them for yourself, you will find them here.

We should like to wish all of our loyal followers a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

Good luck.

Wood or Trees (See the Wood for the Trees) Mid Challenge Reminder

We are back today with our 'See the Wood for the Trees' Mid Challenge Reminder.  As always, the DT have been having a great time looking at the fabulous entries for this Challenge, keep them coming.

We have two wonderful Guest Designers today, Branka and Deanne recently won our 'Autumn' Challenge, if you are not familiar with their work, you can check out their blogs 'Vintage Handmade' and 'Little Bit 'O Paper'.

We asked our Guest Designers to tell us a little about themselves....

Branka

My name is Branka (aka Vintage Handmade) and I come from a beautiful European country Croatia. I am a mother of two amazing children and a wife of a wonderful husband.

I have been crafting since my childhood and after a lot of experimenting I fell into mixed media art and art journaling a few years ago. My style is rather eclectic, trying to express myself in different styles, playing with different mediums, techniques and materials.

My name is Deanne Clarke-Saunders. My hubby and I live in Paradise, Newfoundland Canada.  I was an elementary teacher for 23 years but retired early.  I am now an Early Childhood Educator (couldn’t stay away from the kiddies!!).  I have always enjoyed playing with paper, scissors, glue, and ESPECIALLY crayons and pencil crayons, ever since I’ve been a small child. I just couldn’t stop playing, so I continued by scrapbooking and card-making!  I love it!!! My hubby calls me a paper hoarder. He just MAY be right, but I’d never tell him that!!! A man doesn’t need to know he’s right!!! haha!

Our Design Team ladies have been busy in their craft roomsmaking a few more items to, hopefully, inspire you.

What makes you think that Christmas is just around the corner and we are all working on our Christmas cards?

See the Wood for the Trees

With the arrival of Storm Angus this weekend the weather in the UK has been very wintery - wet and windy in most places and snow in some areas of the north.  We had 'Weather Warnings' and some were even advised to stay home if possible.  Really not a week to be out if you can avoid it, so why not stay home and craft?

Our new challenge starts here today and it could just be the inspiration your need.  'See the Wood for the Trees' will hopefully get your imagination working, include imges of trees or wood grain in your design, or even decorate a wooden object.  It is all about the wood, you can use any materials you like, to make anything you like, for example, a card, an altered box, a gift bag, an ACT, a scrapbook page, an inchie.

Our wonderful Design Team ladies have come up with a few beautiful cards to give you an idea of the sort of thing we have in mind.
